At least it`s not boring! :p

You know how everyone`s has their own  people say when they`re giving you a compliment?  It`s always nice to get compliments in any way, shape or form- but no matter what I`m wearing, I`ll always be cute- that`s just how it is.. Even if I`m wearing all black, I`ll be just that- cute.. I love surprising a bit though, and when I applied for jobs a few weeks back, I probably applied to jobs in 14 stores that would suit me perfectly (all girly, cutsy stuff)- and 1 that was a bit odd in a way… I won`t write the name of the store here, but let`s just say that the clientele is mostly dancers of a certain type… They do have stuff for “regular” people as well off course, but what I noticed first is that the products are a tad bit different to what I`m used to:p Well, I went for trial this afternoon, and got the job, so now I`ll be working my little butt off in order to make some money:D Woop, woop, woop! 😀

Suit up!

Last year the Norwegian TV series “Himmelblå” swept us all away, and now it`s “How I met your mother”. You know when it seems like everybody around you are saying the same frases- seems to get each other in a different way, and from time to time burst into laughter for no apparent reason….? I was hearing “Suit up”, “Really????”, “up top”, “nailed it” etc constantly- and never got it.. But after I started watching HIMYM a couple of weeks ago, it was like “AHA!- now I get it!”. I absolutely love this series- in every way possible:D It has the cool guy, the obsessive girl, the cool chick, the sweet guy, and the guy that never seems to get it right… Hilarius! The only problem is that I always want to watch just one more…. – and suddenly the whole days seems to have disappeared.. :s But oh, well- at least I`ve got sore muscles in my stomach after laughing all day! I`ll be fit as few in no time:p

Esther (aka Monty)..

Monty has the funniest impression of an old lady called ‘Esther’. She’s a tough old crock, with strong opinions about everything, and she never backs out of an argument (you don’t want to get on the wrong side of this lady!). She’s quite annoyed by ‘today’s youth’, and usually complains about how people are acting these days, and is constantly reminiscing about her ‘golden years’ when she was young& hot. She seemed to quite the tease (tøs) back in the day, and has plenty of stories to tell about her adventures back in the day. The funny thing is, that when Esther comes out, Monty seems to be long gone. (where too, I wonder??), and Esther completely takes over- hilarious! This is a lady you’d want to meet;)

(the pic is how I picture Esther;)

My hunt for Matta- G..:p

As I’ve said before, our friend Matte tends to have some sort of personality change when he drinks. Lately he’s been determined to have a few quiet nights, and Matta- G has appeared less frequently than before. Because this alias is unbelievable hilarious, I have been on the look out for him for several night, and finally on Saturday, I found him:)

Here’s some documentation of my hunt:

He’s not here……………………………………………    not there………………………………………………

not here, but……………………………………….. here he is!! 😀

Matta- G

You know when you’ve had a tad too much to drink, you seem to get more liberated, confident and even happier for a while? When I’ve had a couple of beers I feel like I’m still me, but I’m very certain that I’m always right, and (if possible), I tend to talk even more than I normally do.. But it’s all very inecent:) Plenty of times I’ve been trying to ‘solve world problems’ with a friend or two over a few glasses of wine during a late evening, but when the morning comes, we realise that we’re no closer to finding an answer, and the night was pretty much a waste except for good memories off course:D A few weeks ago I met a person that is extremely different from anyone I’ve ever met- he’s a friend of S from home, and came down to the coast to have fun (and hopefully get through his degree without too much hassle;p). You might have heard of him- it’s the newly famous Matta- G. By day he’ s a quiet and sweet guy, but by night M get’s his alias into all kinds of troubles… He usually dissapear from his friends some time during the night, and winds up meeting a bunch of new people and have all kinds of crazy stories to tell the next day- It might sound weird, but he’s amazingly funny, and his stories from his wild nights always cracks us up:) He even has a fanpage on facebook now, so you’re welcome to join his entourage if you think he’s as hilarious as we do:) Keep it up Matta- G!

Mash- up!

Found this great mash- up on youtube! (Greenday’s ‘Bolevard of broken dreams’ and Oasis’  ‘Wonderwall’ + a bit of Travis and Eminem) Check it out!

The gold fish…;)

4483-max-manusI’ve always been really sceptic to Norwegian film and TV in general (or everything that’s not made in the US to be honest).. I know it’s judgemental, but every time I’ve tried to watch a Scandinavian, french, italian movie etc, I’ve wind up disappointed, so I just pretty much gave up. But apparently, Norway seems to have improved a lot the last few years since I’ve been gone. I watched a movie called ‘Max Manus’ when I was home over summer, (a movie based on a true story about a Norwegian man who helped defend Norway against the Germans during WW2), and it was brilliant!himmelbl%C3%A5 I was positively surprised:) A few weeks ago, my friend ML received a package from her family with a new Norwegian TV- series called ‘Himmelblaa’. After almost all our friends down here had seen the 2 seasons, I promised to give it a try it even though I was sceptic… I absolutely LOVED it!! It seems that the days of bad TV and movies in Norway are over for my part:)

When it comes to Norway, I find that we have REALLY good TV commercials though- we even have an award show every year for the best commercials! (Gullfisken). Commercials in Norway tend to be funny and sometimes corny, but here in Oz, almost all commercials have a stupid song with the phone number of the business implemented.. I suspect that this is done so people will get the song burned into their mind, and probably have it in their head for days (until they’re in sudden need of a carpet cleaner, exterminator, deodorant etc….).. So I guess it’s serves its purpose, but it’s soo annoying! Another thing is that they often make commercials about topics I find is a bit disgraceful (funeral homes, life insurance etc..). They ‘play’ with peoples feelings by saying things like ” I care about my family, and don’t want them to suffer financial loss if I suddenly die, so I get funeral cover.” I think that’s just mean…. In Norway, there are more laws on what and how you can say things in commercials, and no commercials play on emotions like this…. They attract people’s attention by humour instead- way better:)

Check out this Netcom commercial- it was the winner of last years” Gullfisken” (- it’s in Norwegian with English subtitles).
